The Origin of the Finest Resin
From the limestone cliffs of Cal Madow to the great frankincense trails of antiquity — Somaliland has supplied the world's finest Boswellia for over four thousand years.
A Botany Found Nowhere Else
Boswellia trees thrive only in a narrow band of arid mountain terrain — limestone cliffs, mineral soils, dry monsoon winds and the precise altitude found in northern Somaliland's Cal Madow and Golis ranges. It is here that Boswellia frereana — the rarest and most prized species — grows almost exclusively.
The trees cling to rock faces for centuries. The resulting resin carries a citrus-pine clarity, low water content, and exceptional purity that buyers cannot replicate from any other origin.

A Trade Older Than Empire
The frankincense of the Horn of Africa was carried by caravan to the temples of pharaonic Egypt, the altars of Rome, and the markets of southern Arabia. Pliny the Elder, Herodotus, and the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea all describe the precious resin flowing north from these very mountains.
Today the same harvesting families — passing skill from father to son for generations — supply the world's prestige perfumers, pharmaceutical labs and ceremonial markets. Daalo carries that lineage forward with international certification and ethical partnership at every step.
